Ø Dr. Joyce Pedersen, ACVIM, is board certified in small animal internal medicine. She joined Redwood Veterinary Clinic in 2003. Dr. Pedersen received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Louisiana State University. She then completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Michigan State University and a residency in small animal internal medicine at Cornell University. She is specifically interested in hematology, oncology, endocrinology, and dermatology as well as liver and kidney disease. Before moving to Sonoma County in 2003, Dr. Pedersen had practiced in New York as well as the San Francisco Bay area and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our practice.
Ø Paula Capurro, DVM. Dr. Paula Capurro was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and moved to the U.S. in her youth. She knew she wanted to be a veterinarian since she was four years old! She attended Florida International University and obtained her Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. She attended Western University of Health Sciences' College of Veterinary Medicine in Southern California and graduated top of her class. Her interests include Surgery, Anesthesiology , and Pain Management, among others. She moved to Sonoma County and loves the area and climate.
Ø Stacey Llanes, DVM. Dr. Stacey Llanes was born and raised in Sonoma County, CA. She attended Sonoma State University and obtained her Bachelor of Science in Biology with an emphasis in Animal Physiology. She attended the University of California at Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. Her hobbies include spending time with her husband and two children, horseback riding, and attending competitions with her family's German Short-Haired and German Wire-Haired Pointers.
Ø Richard Hoskins, DVM. Doctor Hoskins joined the staff in 1990. His interests in veterinary medicine are broad. As a team member he offers a diversity of services, surgical and diagnostic, for the patient/client.
Ø Theda Mobley, RVT. Theda is Redwood Veterinary Clinic’s chief technician. She has been part of the clinic’s team since 1976! Her duties include surgical prep, surgical assistance, x-ray, treatments, inventory, purchasing, and supervising staff. Theda is a devoted horse enthusiast and our resident artist, entertaining us with her wonderful wood carvings and pottery. She shares a keen interest of tortoises with a few other members of our staff. Laika, her Chesapeake Bay retriever, is also considered a vital member of the Redwood Veterinary Clinic family!
Ø Jason Quinn, RVT. Jason was hired in 2004 as a Veterinary Assistant and since that time has obtained his license as an RVT. He was born and raised in Sonoma County and graduate of Sonoma State University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Evolutionary Ecology. He lives in Santa Rosa with his wife and daughter.
Ø Pam Ensign. Pam is front office manager for Redwood Veterinary Clinic. She has been with Redwood Veterinary Clinic since 1988. Her wonderful energy, love of people, and warmth make her one of our best emissaries! Most likely Pam will be the first to greet you when visiting our clinic.
Ø Dr. Cynthia Heiller, DVM has been with the Emergency Animal Hospital, an affiliation of Redwood Veterinary Clinic, since 1999. Dr. Heiller began her veterinary career as a licensed veterinary technician. She received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University. She has been practicing emergency medicine first as a technician and then as a veterinarian for over thirty-three years. Dr. Heiller spends much of her free time training and showing German Wirehaired Pointers with over ten dogs currently – most of which are actively in shows and trials!
Ø Elaine Tullson, DVM. Doctor Tullson joined the Emergency Animal Hospital team in 2001. She is an important and valued member of our team.
Ø Susan Ostapak, DVM. Dr. Ostapak joined our Emergency Animal Hospital staff in 1998. She is also a veterinarian for the San Francisco Zoo and is active in many projects worldwide.
